Considered one of the essential tracks on the In Search of the Land album, "Hey Hood" is a poem by 18-year-old poet and activist, Tiyana Williams. The poem invites the listener to stop considering inner-city neighborhoods as sites of terror and to view the hood as a more nuanced site of struggle that also nurtures beautiful people of color.
